Biography
Lisa F. Mozer, a veteran broadcast meteorologist, is recognized
nationally for her work at The Weather Channel, based in
Atlanta, Georgia. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in
communications, she is a graduate of Rowan University and a member of the National Speakers Association. Lisa began
her meteorological studies at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte. With a transfer in reserve branches, she completed the
United States Weather Technology program. In addition to her
certification as a weather observer and weather forecaster, Lisa
earned an Associates degree in Applied Science from the
Community College of the Air Force. She has a Master of Aeronautical Science Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
A native from the Statesville and Charlotte, North Carolina area, several local TV and radio
stations, including WSIC and WSOC provided Lisa with an introduction to broadcasting.
By the late 1980's Lisa was working full time as a TV meteorologist. Her first full time
weather position was held at WPDE in Florence, South Carolina, followed by KLST in
San Angelo, Texas. Before joining The Weather Channel in 1996, Lisa worked at WSBT
in South Bend, Indiana. At WSBT she was the morning meteorologist for TV, AM and
FM radio broadcast programs.
After serving twenty years, Lisa retired from the reserves.
She was activated in the Presidential Selective Reserve Callup in
Support of Operation Allied Force (Kosovo). She is a decorated
forecaster, awarded the Indiana Commendation Medal for
meteorological services.
Lisa holds the AMS and NWA Broadcast Seals as well as a
member of the NWA Broadcast Seal Board.
